Conditions of use

Effective August 4, 2026. Reading this site is taken as acceptance of what follows. It is written in ordinary sentences, and the headings are the actual obligations rather than a numbering scheme.

Reading costs nothing and requires nothing

No account, no paywall, no membership, no registration. Read anything here, from anywhere, on anything.

Quoting is welcome, with a credit

Take a sentence or two, name The Sun Traveller, link to the page it came from. That is settled permission and needs no email.

Republishing whole needs asking first

Text and photographs belong to Suntraveller Bureau LLC and are protected by copyright. Reproducing a complete piece, using a photograph commercially, or lifting material at length requires written permission beforehand.

Permission is frequently given for editorial and non commercial use. Write to the desk saying where it would appear and how it would be credited. Harvesting these pages by machine to train a model is not covered by this permission and is not granted elsewhere either.

Leaving the site working is part of the deal

Breaking in, overwhelming it, pulling it down at a rate that spoils it for other readers, hunting for weaknesses and pushing bulk traffic through the forms are all out. Reporting a genuine security weakness is the exception and is welcome at [email protected].

Treat the accounts as records, not forecasts

Every piece describes one trip, at one river stage, in one season. It is a record of that day, not a prediction of yours.

Water rises. Roads close. Ferries stop running. A ramp that was usable last October is under six feet of water this March. Check the current position with whoever runs the place, and read the standing page alongside this section, because the safety part matters more than the legal part.

Understand that nothing here is sold

No shop, no membership, no paid tier, no consulting. Money never changes hands on these pages, no payment detail is gathered anywhere within them, and not one page asks for a card.

With nothing on sale, a handful of sections that a shop would need simply do not arise. Each one is named here so the omission is deliberate rather than an oversight:

• Payment terms. None, since no transaction occurs between a reader and this paper.
• Delivery. None, since nothing physical or digital is supplied.
• Refunds and returns. None, since there is nothing to refund. Money paid to somebody else after

reading this site is governed by their terms.

• Cancellations. None held here. This paper cannot cancel anything, having never held it.

Deal with the booking service directly

The front page carries a search desk. It hands a route across to Travelpayouts and stops there: what comes back, and anything a traveller does with it, sits on their side of the line. The arrangement is disclosed beside the desk, at length on the flight search page, and again on the standing page.

What matters here is the shape. Search there, book onward, and the contract runs between you and that service or the airline behind it. This paper is not a party to it, holds no money, holds no reservation, and cannot alter one. It may receive a commission on a completed booking, and what you pay is unaffected.

Trouble with a reservation goes to whoever is holding it. Saying so is not a dodge, it is a statement of who has your money.

Accept the limits of a one person paper

The site is provided as it stands. Reasonable care goes into everything and corrections are made promptly, but nothing here guarantees uninterrupted availability, currency of every detail, or fitness for a particular purpose you have in mind.

Within what the law allows, indirect and consequential loss following use of this site falls outside what Suntraveller Bureau LLC answers for, and any single claim tied to it is limited to one hundred United States dollars in total. Liability that cannot lawfully be capped is untouched: fraud, and death or injury from negligence, sit where the law puts them. Several states curtail exclusions like these, and living in one of them means its rule wins over this paragraph.

Tennessee law applies

These conditions are governed by Tennessee law, read without its conflict of laws provisions. Any dispute goes before the state or federal courts sitting in Shelby County, and both sides consent to that venue.

Before anybody files anything, write to the desk. Every disagreement this paper has had was a misunderstanding that one reply settled.

Copyright complaints

If material here infringes your copyright, write to [email protected] identifying the work, the page it sits on, how to reach you, and confirming that the rights are yours or that you speak for the holder. Such notices are dealt with promptly, and material comes down while a serious claim is looked at.

These conditions change occasionally

A revision carries a new date at the head of this page and applies from it. Nothing is applied backwards to something you did before a change.
