What leaves this domain
Privacy
What this site collects, which is very little, where it goes, which is one place, and what it never does, which is most things.
The short version
This site has one form. What you type into it reaches this office and nowhere else. Nothing on these pages counts your visit, recognizes your return, or builds a profile of you.
What you can check for yourself
- Search the page source for a card field
- It is not there, on any page
- Search it for a password field
- Also not there. This site has no accounts and no logins
- Scripts a page pulls in
- Two, and three where the lookup sits. Every one is served by this domain and there is no fourth
- What the lookup reads as you type
- A single file of airport codes, served from here as well
- Anything reaching another company before you press a button
- Nothing. Your own browser's network panel is the whole of the evidence
- Analytics and measurement
- None running
- Server logs
- The company hosting these pages writes the usual ones, which every host writes. They are read when something breaks, and nothing in them is matched against what you typed into the form
The flight lookup on the front page
There is one, and a booking company that is not this office runs it, from a subdomain of this address. The button hands you over to them.
- The instruction that leaves
- Eight boxes squeezed into one string: a code at each end, a day and a month per leg you fill in, one letter for the cabin, three digits for the party
- What is absent from it
- Every word that would say who you are. You are never asked, so there is nothing to withhold
- The airport codes
- Come from a file this domain serves and your own machine reads; the typing itself reaches nobody
- Shared with the booking request
- Not a character. Two unrelated things that happen to sit on one page
- After the button
- Their notice takes over. They reserve, they charge, and this counter stands outside both
What the flight lookup does takes the whole thing apart at length, refusals included, and none of those refusals involves telling anyone anything.
What the form collects
- What you type
- Your name, a way of replying to you, and whatever you tell us about the trip you want
- Why
- To answer you. There is no other purpose
- Where it goes
- To this office. It is not sold, rented, shared for anybody else's marketing, or passed to a data broker
- Who else sees it
- An operator sees only what is needed to price your trip, and only after you ask us to go and ask
- How long we keep it
- Two years from the last message, or seven years where a trip was actually booked and tax rules require it
- What we never ask for
- Card numbers, bank details, social security numbers, passport numbers, medical records or anything about your health beyond what you volunteer about walking
What we never do
- Sell your details
- Never, to anybody, in any form
- Add you to a mailing list because you asked a question
- Asking for a quote is not consent to be marketed at. There is no list here to join
- Profile you
- No behavioral tracking, no fingerprinting, no cross site identifiers
- Buy data about you
- We know what you told us and nothing else
Outside services
A hosting company serves these pages. A search or booking function may in future be operated by another company from a subdomain of this address; if you use it, that company's own notice about data governs from the moment you press its button, and this one does not. Nothing of what you have typed into our form travels there, because our form and any such function are not connected.
This paragraph is written before any such function exists so that adding one later does not make this notice untrue.
Cookies
- Cookies this site sets
- One, and only if you accept the notice: it remembers that you answered it, so it stops asking
- What it contains
- A single value recording your answer. No identifier, no history
- Cookies for advertising
- None set by this site
- Cookies for measurement
- None
- If you decline
- The site works exactly as it did. Nothing on it depends on the answer
Your rights
Write to aftercare@thesuntraveller.com and ask what we hold, ask for a copy, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete it. We answer within thirty days and we do not charge. If you are in a state or country whose law gives you a stronger right than the one described here, that law applies and we will honor it.
Children
This site is not directed at children and this office does not knowingly collect anything from anybody under sixteen. If you believe we have, write to aftercare@thesuntraveller.com and it will be deleted.
Changes
When this notice changes, the date at the foot of the page changes with it.
The Sun Traveller sells nothing that it operates. The flights, the hotels, the ships, the vehicles and the guides described on this site all belong to other companies. This office finds them, checks them, books them and stays with you until you fly, and it owns no part of any of them.
