Why the catalog is built the way it is
Because the question that decides whether a trip works is almost never asked at the point of sale. Budget gets asked. Dates get asked. How far you can comfortably walk before your day stops being enjoyable does not, and it is the one that ends holidays.
So this office asks it first, and files everything it sells by the answer. Four bands, from a river vessel where every step is optional to a route where seven consecutive days of ascent cannot be shortened once you are on it. Each trip page states the walking, the ground, the climbing, the altitude, the heat and the moves, and ends with a line about who the trip is not for.
That last line costs us bookings. It is still the right thing to print.
