One desk, one outside service, and the arrangement written out before anybody uses it.
The arrangement, before you use it. The search below belongs to an outside booking service rather than to this paper. Anything chosen there is booked and paid for on their site, on their terms. Should a trip follow a search that began here, this paper may be paid a commission by that service. The traveller pays the same figure either way, and no commission alters which results come back.
The desk stands on the front page, below the writing. A short note sits with it; this page is the same account without the compression. Anybody about to type a route into a box deserves to know who receives it, and when.
Whose search this is, and whose it is not
The fields belong to this paper. They are ordinary markup served from this domain, and the town suggestions that appear while you type come out of a list file shipped with the paper rather than a live call to anybody. Up to the moment the button is pressed, nothing typed has travelled anywhere.
Pressing it is the handover. What leaves is a single line of query string, read by a booking host that an outside travel service operates on our subdomain. Past that point nothing is ours. They rank what they rank, quote what they quote, take the payment, set the conditions and answer for the data.
This paper sells nothing, holds no reservation, takes no payment and acts for no airline. Typing into the panel creates no obligation toward Suntraveller Bureau LLC, and this company is not a party to whatever contract you eventually make.
The commission
A search begun here that ends in a completed booking may earn this paper a commission from the service.
Three consequences, all worth stating:
- The traveller pays the same. The commission comes out of the service's margin. There is no
cheaper version of the same seat available by avoiding this page.
- Results are not weighted. Ranking and pricing belong to the booking service. No airline pays
this paper anything, and no arrangement here favours one over another.
- It funds writing, not the reverse. No piece on this site exists to push anybody toward a
booking. The reaches carry no prices, no partner links and no booking prompts.
What the service receives, and when
Worth knowing before use, because the timing is the part most places leave vague.
Typing sends nothing. Suggestions are matched against a list that travels with the paper, so the desk can be filled in completely, thought better of and closed without any outside company learning it exists.
Press the button and one line goes across: both ends of the trip, the dates, the class, the head count. That line, plus whatever a web request discloses by its nature (network address, browser), is what the booking service has. Storage on their side is theirs to write and theirs to explain.
This paper does not receive your searches, does not see your results and does not learn whether you booked. What arrives here is aggregate commission reporting.
No page on this site loads anything from anybody. Never press that button and no outside service is contacted at all.
Why it is one desk
A paper with a booking form on every page has quietly stopped being a paper. The writing starts serving the form, and after a while the form is the product.
Keeping the search to one desk, set below the opening of the front page and repeated nowhere, is the limit that prevents that. The front page opens on photographs. The section opens on writing. The reaches have no prompts in them. Remove the desk tomorrow and nothing else would need rewriting, which is a fair test of whether the balance holds.
Using it sensibly, from somebody who flies out of here
Check which airport the fare is actually from. Fares out of Memphis and fares out of Nashville are different markets, and the three hour drive between them is sometimes worth it and usually is not once you count the return leg at midnight.
Move the dates before you settle. Departure day moves the number more than almost anything else, and the flexible view shows that faster than guessing.
Open the fare rules on their site before committing. Baggage, change fees and what counts as included all live there. Those conditions bind the traveller and belong to the carrier, not here.
If a booking goes wrong
Contact the service you booked with, or the airline holding the ticket. They have the reservation and the money.
No cancellation, alteration, refund or even a lookup is possible from this end, for the simple reason that this paper never held the reservation. Asking nicely does not change that.
